Nothing special. A lot of people are joining the army nowadays, of course because of the economic crisis, but also because patriotism and nationalism are slowly coming back. People feel in danger and want to defend their country.
Conscription was stopped 15 (IIRC) years ago, but I think it's going to come back sooner or later. It was an part of our national identity, and something was lost when it stopped.

Je suis en école d'ingé à l'étranger, une des meilleures du monde sans me vanter (c'est une board anon de toute façon).
Je pense que dans quelques années je serais assez bon dans ce que je fais (génie logiciel et maths pures).
J'ai très très envie de servir mon pays (la France) mais je veux aussi avoir un boulot qui me plait, qui paye bien et "challenging" intellectuellement. J'ai pleins d'offre à l'étranger (notamment aux US) qui rencontrent ces critères mais franchement si il existe une alternative en France je la choisirais immédiatement.
Y'a t-il ce genre d'opportunités dans l'armée française oú devrais-je plutôt chercher dans le secteur privé ?
