Yeah, there are Muslims out there that are alright and I've even been friends with a few. But the terrorists and their western enablers hide behind this fact everytime something bad happens surrounding Islam.
Additionally, the moderates that live in the communities, visit the same mosques and attend the same services as extremists never inform authorities about what's going on. Frankly I don't believe that they all have no idea that it's going on in their own communities, right under their noses. So I view moderates as part of the problem, also.
If moderates started actually helping intelligence and law enforcement agencies to crack down on terrorism and sedition then I'd have a very different opinion of them. But they don't, so fuck them, too.

I don't know if Soichiro is going to do it, but most people like to bring up the Crusades as if that completely justifies their criticism of Christianity. Which is pretty shitty when you consider that Islamic navies and pirates raided and Islamic armies fought in Europe for centuries before the first crusade was even called by Urban II. They act like European Christians just got it in their head one day to attack the Levant because it was the cool thing to do and they'd get rich, when if anything the reality is much more deeply rooted in geopolitics of the time.

Interesting religion. Many of its fundamental beliefs created the climate for a massive wave of scientific discovery during Europe's medieval period. However, Islam, like all other religions, are now obsolete and outdated. It's struggle to remain relevant has partially caused its current wave of extremism (excluding geopolitics and western "intervention").
As for Muslims themselves, it's hard to assign any defining characteristics to a group of over 1.5 billion people spread across the world. The Muslims I've met while living in Central Asia were all incredibly hospitable to me, though.
I also personally like muslim women and the idea of hijab, but that's pretty much just a fetish that's come out of my attraction to submissive women.

They're hateful people at their core because they're explicitly taught from birth that their belief is the best and only one. Even people who appear nice are angry at their core. Try talking to a Sunni about the Shias or vice versa, you'll get a very ambiguous response that boils down to "I hate them because we disagree"

Not him, but it's not a meme. There was a pressure towards astronomy-related inventions for determining the Qibla and knowing the right time for prayers at the very least for example. Other sciences tangentially becoming a subject of study (perhaps even to satisfy other Muslim concerns) is not surprising.

Which arguably makes it even more retarded. As I understand it, the basis of the Shia V Sunni dispute is over who should be the Caliph. If a Caliph was instated, then current leaders in Islamic countries would be forfeiting their rule. Unless I've missed some important detail, which is entirely possible, it just doesn't make sense to me.
