When i go to Iceland or the Netherlands i can pick up a newspaper and sort of get the gist of what they are writing about even though i don't know the languages because so many words are the same.
I have heard that this is the way with English and Norwegian. Since the grammar is the same, the word order is the same and many words are the same. Is this true for you anglos?

It's true for me as a German. I've looked a bit into Norwegian and I've noticed that many of the words are similar to their German equivalents while the sentence structure seems to be closer to English.
