I hope I dont offend anyone, but how comes everything about England is so ugly?
Their houses, their food, their people, even their weather.
It can't be a coincidence, can it?
>>
Nope it's a depressive shithole

Have you ever seen one of those typical English TV shows? They make you want to kill yourself
>>

Most of these impoverished people own a house made of bricks...
Meanwhile in the USA, you belong to the middleclass if you own a wooden hut in the desert.

>>

I guess around 1920 to 1930.
>>
>>53273274
Then their imagination is incorrect. Youll only find these in preserved neighbourhoods up north
>>
>>53273367
Plenty of terraces in London, although the style is different to the ones in the OP. Sash windows are mostly on the townhouses, Victorian and Edwardian terraces don't look like that either.

Terraced houses with the old yellow stock bricks can be gorgeous 2bh

You don't know much about the U.S. do you? Our middle class houses are generally bigger than European homes and like most countries the majority live near the coast (39% actually live in countries bordering the coast). No one really lives in the desert unless your some kind of religious nut.

Most Germans don't even own houses they rent as you said little commie block apartments.

No, that's Bill Gates tier in America. The American middleclass live in houses made of plywood and cardboard.

Former /brit/ here. Britain is a depressing, dire, lonely place, to be honest. While there are a couple things that I'll miss, I don't regret leaving for a second.
>>
>>53273756

Actually, I was surprised when I moved here that the wooden houses meme is only really true in a few places. Most homes here are solid brick. Only outer suburbs are cardboard meme houses.
>>
>>53273542
Houses there are expensive as fuck.
I know 2 Germans that own their own small business and they still live with their parents. One guy has 12 employees.
>>

Have you never traveled around your country? They're everywhere, from north to south and from small towns to big cities. To say that they are only in a couple areas is laughable.

Boston's Beacon Hill neighborhood reminds me of Downing St a bit.

Brick terraced homes in New England are worth quite a bit of dosh. Maybe you can buy some surface parking lot in Boston or a plot in some rural village in New England, plop some British brick terraced homes and flip them for a million dollars, kek.

What a cuck
I lived in Texas as a child and I never resorted to using American spellings.
I remember doing some English test and the teacher marked me down for using the British spelling instead of the American spelling.
I complained but she didn't have any of it. My parents complained to the teacher, my home room teacher and the Principal, and it got remarked with the British spelling being correct.
I did two years of middle school but we lived in an area with quite a few British expats, so they accepted us using British English

I did. Likely a third of my office was American Expats who would constantly complain about how shit the UK was. When the pound went off a cliff, I decided to fuck off to the US with them.
>>
>>53278294

you lot have been cherry picking so I thought I would do the same, google 'american slums' or 'american projects' and there's literally tens of thousands of pictures like this, so get off your fucking high horses
>>

Not west of 48th. It looks like Camden to me though.
>>
>>53278225
If I wanted a massive house in the Scottish highlands or a massive house in Alaska, It would still cost more in the UK. There's plenty of space in both of these locations, but people will pay a premium to live somewhere like the UK, America is nice, but I don't want to live knowing a gang of niggers could ransack my house at any moment. Even if it means I have to pay a bit more for the privilege. Factors like this influence property markets across the globe. And they favour the UK over America.

No American, it is also very possible they were made in mind to house (factory) workers. These types of houses are here too, they're small (because they needed a lot of cheap houses fast) and host enough space for one family.

How many here do you think live like this?
I know of none.
Not all of America is the stereotype that has formed on 4chan

Again, I'm British. I'm not an American citizen yet. Won't be for another year. The difference between me and them is that I've actually lived in the UK and know exactly what it is like.

No, there are many here that have been up for over 100 years.

and your argument is coming from a point of opinion and bias because you hated the UK enough to leave, I am trying to argue facts and the fact is there is about .02 difference between the anglo countries on the HDI index, therefore confirming what I;ve been arguing all along that the standrad of living in any anglo country is basically the same with slight variation

The vast majority of poor people in Detroit live in small single family bungalows. The only time you see row homes in the midwest, 9 times of out ten they are made of stone like pic related.

I'd say about 37% if I had to put a number on it.

Holland gets it. These terraced houses, as we call them, are a relic of late 19th, early 20th century when there were a lot of active factories and mines and housing was needed. Most are being replaced with modern homes now because people don't want to live in them.

you really don't know what you are talking about, you're arguing from a point of complete ignorance, there are meteorological facts to back up my argument, the weather in southern england, particularly along the coast, is comparable to France, not really surprising though considering that they are only a few miles apart geographically speaking

Sorry m8 I've never seen either of those. I'm not sure the Kray twins were typical, they were pretty hardcore criminals in their prime. The area they grew up in would be a working class kind of place where you might find chavs, but still some decent people who wouldn't really fit the chav stereotype, plus chav culture is a more recent phenomenon 2bh.

I'm sorry, but the markets don't lie. It's simple supply and demand. If people don't want to live in your country, it's going to be cheap. Same reason mouldy bread is cheaper than fresh baked.

Actually foreign investment has a lot to do with it, as well as your geography. USA has lots of space to spare, UK does not. Regardless, I'd wager that most non Anglos would prefer to live in the States than the UK.

Not at all. 5 miles to the nearest shop where I am (pretty far for Britain) but with a car who gives a shit.

>>53279332
It's more a problem of population density imo. The issues you mention are much more of a problem in cities/suburbs than they are in rural towns.
