Every time I join a voice chat with americans in it there's always bound to be a few that just kill my ears with how shitty their microphones are. This never happens with Europeans or even fucking Indians.

If this is true the one explanation is that certain soundcards and computers here often came with a cheap mic like that included. My dad had like 6 of those that came with various PC's and parts
So rather than buying a new real mic they use one that came with their PC or soundcard
