Does Sri Lanka have the same sanitary issues as India?
I want to go on holiday and experience that kind of culture, but India is too dirty.
Colombo seems clean
My Mom went there with the secret service years back, supposedly they were told to avoid eating the food. They ended up being grounded there for a while and a few of the agents got sick.
They are 73rd in the HDI rankings (0.757), right after Mexico and before Turkey. Pretty good for a country that suffered a three decades long civil war recently. India is around 0.600 so Sri Lanka must not be as bad

been to Colombo, Kandy and a few other places in between. places are clean, and things are pretty cheap. overall a decent vacay for the european/american traveler (lots of 'em there too)
