It is the same with spain and portugal,sadly there is a lot of unemployment.The recession did not end.There is a remarkable difference though;Spain is a big country,you got heavy industry.It saves a lot of prestige and does not allow other countries to humiliate you.Dunno if portugal does have serious industry.Greece stopped the heavy industry project in 1980s when pasok(panhellenic socialistic party) came in power.They chose to support the public sector instead.
