i think having a non *10 unit system is a good way to train your brain
all systems of measurements are arbitrary
it's been proven that humans have a strong tenancy towards logarithmic thinking so that's why so many people prefer the metric system. but the imperial system is not entirely without merit.
imperial was based on the principle of clean divisibility. metric lends itself logically to simple logarithmic growth, but the imperial system has to scale differently between units because numbers with many divisors are somewhat sparse and need to be selected far enough from another to be practically useful.
with the advent of mathematic education and calculators making fractional math easier, the imperial system does seem to have outlived its usefulness though. but if we are going to just choose systems on what most useful we should just switch our entire number system to hex or binary.
