ABSOLUTE MADMAN
>>
>>53011272

Less mad now it's been 15 years.

Everything else hasn't held a candletbh, even the tsunamis which killed much more.

Everyone's already forgotten about the Paris attacks. The style was shallow and pedantic.

The world needs a monstrous terrorist attack

Mom was in one of the WTC buildings at the time doing her hair and thought the emergency alarm was just a drill until she looked out the window and saw the second plane hit. The she got the hell out of there.

Dad was part of the bucket brigade carrying dead bodies out for weeks.

Did he died of inhaling toxic dust?
>>
>>53011765
Yes, both are fine, I know people who lost relatives and others that dont work because of disabilities due to the attack though (mostly noxious fumes)
>>
>>53011926
He's fine, I think he can claim some benefits but the process is a bitch and he doesn't care much
>>

What floor was she on? How did she get down?
>>
>posters on this board have actually died in real life
holy shit senpai

they were probably thinking they weren't going to die anytime soon and then they died

shieet
>>
>>53011272

I still remember that day. We were allowed to leave school early and played the whole day football. It was nice.
>>
>>53012007
They need to die in order to claim benefits.
t. mother who is disabled as a result but alive (thank god)

Something that I find weird: How could Mohammed Atta get a commercial pilot's license over the span of half a year? Just look it up, he started taking lessons in July 2000, got his private pilot's license in September of that year. This is exceptionally fast but possible. Then by December he already had his commercial pilot license! Anywhere I look, they say it takes two years on average for the commercial license alone (without the private license) - he did ALL of it in half a year?
>>

I wasn't aware any other cunts let their kids out early. I only remember my dad crying when he picked me up from school. Dark day desu

Hate it when people assume this, its like they want to die
>>
My dad was in Manhattan during this, and I remember we could see the smoke from Route 17 in Northern New Jersey for weeks afterwards. Shit was so fucked up senpai
>>
>>53012110
She wasn't in either of the twin towers but in one of the other 5 buildings that make up the world trade center complex.

Her story was that she was doing her hair in the bathroom when the alarm went off. Most everyone left but her because she thought it was a drill and supposedly this happened every so often. Eventually she got a bad feeling and she left the bathroom, looked out the window and saw the second plane hit. She then rushed out of the building and regrouped with her team in a nearby restaurant.

Thats what I remember from her story at least

It happens every year you know.

I know a guy who doesnt work anymore because of inhalation problems he got on 9/11, he receives money from the government and is pretty well off

America

Do American feel they've gotten their revenge, i mean.
>>
>>53012343
We've killed everyone responsible for 9/11 and made approximately 100 times as many enemies as a result, as well as costing us a lot of friends globally. Revenge isn't worth it lad.
>>
>>53012259

Well, our teacher sent us home to "watch news". If I remember correctly we had two lessons of political education left. So there was some context.

I was 5 when this happened and I remember very little. Its hard to get revenge on enemy that is glad to die for what they believe in, I dont know what the rest of America thinks but I think that rebuilding and the death of Bid laden was pretty conclusive
>>
>>53011272
>tfw the twin towers will never be rebuilt.

Better dead than looking bad for overreacting to a false alarm.
>>

>>

Absolutely not.

The response did more damage to the country than the attacks. By luck or insight Osama struck a winning blow.
>>
>>53012343
what revenge? it's a pretty abstract concept. terrorism certainly didn't go away. we did kill osama though, people were happy about that.

Not really. There was some disbelief, but that's it. And like I said before, we just were happy that we were able to leave school early and played football. I was 14 back then, I didn't really care.

umm that's exactly how the middle east got fucked up further

Sure, they should do that, but they haven't. The problem of radical Islam is now worse than it's ever been.

Inshallah brother
>>
>>53012840
heavy intervention in the middle east since 9/11 has just exasperated the problem with regard to terrorism rather than helped it

trying to literally win the war on terrorism is impossible
>>
>>53012469
Pretty much.
>>
>>53013008
I partly agree. I do think that when somebody hits you you should hit them back (like killing B L ) but, try more not to kill people around. And most important, after war, invest in that country so you make a less motive for terrorism (i mean, after intervention, you should try to rebuild and make schools, hospitals etc.)

There will always be terrorist, but it shouldn't be a whole country full of them....
>>
>>53013236
>And most important, after war, invest in that country so you make a less motive for terrorism
You wouldn't believe how much money we dumped back into Afghanistan, 90% of it just got embezzled and wasted.

One example I can give you is that we dropped like 200 billion on a power plant and they're still importing electricity from Pakistan instead of running the plant.
>>
>>53013326
We could never win Afg with ISI next door.
Ditto Iraq with Iran. Sahwa works, but the day we're gone, IRGC moves in.

People born in the late 90's or early 00's will never understand the magnitude of 9/11.

That day changed the world.
>>
>>53011272
It's kind of crazy how this event is still so fresh in so many of our memories. I was 6 at the time, but the weird thing is that I remember every exact little detail about September 12, 2001, not Sept. 11 proper.

It also makes me question just how powerful al-Qaeda was as an organization. I mean, they say ISIS today is much stronger and wealthier than they were, but the best they can pull is a Columbine-tier massacre. These guys hijacked intercontinental flights and brought thousands of people to their deaths like that. It was a terrible but spectacular operation.
>>
>>53014094
Not really.

The twin towers were an eyesore. I like to think that we live in a better universe were they are no longer standing.

Terrorist attacks have happened before, Americans just aren't used to bad things happening to them. It's like when a 10 year old cries when their mother says they can't have something. The USA always expects to get its way, and when it fragile ego cracks, they go apeshit and cry and get hyper-emotional.
