But I wonder how? It's a nation that, despite several attempts to wipe them out of existence, have survived to this day- making them one of the 2 most ancient cultures in the world.
They are a nation that, despite being extremely small in numbers and almost universally getting persecuted/discriminated, had achieved world-wide success and control of all major aspects of local life- starting with sports and entertainment, ending with money and government.
If they say that you should side with the winner- than you should side with the Jews.

No, you shmendrik, while over all the Jews aren't sportive as result of "scholar culture", there were always Jews who dealt with sports.
While only a small percentage of the small Jewish population, they often achieved great many things in sports just in all other areas.
Just look at the Olympics in the past 20 years; there is not a single western/eastern-Europe that doesn't have at least one Jew in it's team. A hefty lot of them are medal-winners.
And that's before talking about all the Jewish trainers and managers that control the different sports.

We might not be great but how much we accomplished with our situation and in such short time is more impressive then most countries. If Israel didn't have the 20% Arabs we'd probably be one of the better countries in the world.
