They most likely weren't dissimiliar from Berbers, so not black, but not quite white either. Due to Egyptian civilization not being connected to the near-east civilizations (Egypt rised on its own, not as a colony of Mesopotamians), it would be incorrect to call them Arab. Nubians were black, late Egyptian nobility was white due to Greek admixture. The mummy of Ramssess II has red hair, and the population that has the highest occurence of red hair outside of Europeans are Riffians, who have significant Berber admixture.
