Boston's cool because of the fast-paced East Coast city life. I've grown into it a lot. And you get "tough" and let stuff just roll right off your back. Everything's more walkable and accessible without a car. Nice summers, perfect falls, and cold winters. People are generally pretty educated and skinny. Pretty low crime rate too compared to many large US cities.
Pretty good overall, although I'd prefer NYC if I pulled down $100K/year.

Never been to Seattle, but I've spent a few weeks in Vancouver, SF and San Diego.
From that short time, the main differences I'd say are people here have thicker skin, aren't as smiley and friendly, and seem a little more serious about professional life. People are quite driven and focused on being good at their jobs. But yeah, they tend to be pretty varied as far as background, careers, personalities etc., so it's not hard to meet interesting people. I've met people from all over the world here, blue collar people, rich privileged people, musicians, intellectuals, pseudo-intellectuals, obscure artists. It's pretty good as far as meeting interesting people. You might have better luck asking about this stuff on /trv/ than /int/

I'd also say much more focused on settling down and starting a family. Buying a home is getting harder here but it's not as bad as Silicon Valley plus your kids get the best public schools in the nation.
One trap to avoid, Boston does get a lot of transients and they tend to keep to themselves. Avoid that bubble and it's a nice place bar weather.

Starting a family makes it sound like a good place, and also the tougher skin part. The public schools being good is also a thing here though, so idk how applicable that is.
