start with something sweet, alcohol is an acquired taste and quite bitter so odds are if you don't go for something sweet you won't enjoy it at all
There are some cocktails you can buy, they're a bit girly but honestly they taste good, if not too sweet. Basically, just look for any alcohol that has flashy colors, and odds are it's going to be sweet.
Otherwise, go either for sparkling wine, or for cider. You could also try mead, I've never tried it but apparently it's not that good.
