most southern europe nations are nationalist and socialist, yet they fail hard. On the other hand singapure is a non-socialist dictatorship and it works very well (considering their circumstances).
it's not the ideology that was right, it's the delivery system that makes things work out. Democracies require well educated citizens and very good social coesion, otherwise it becomes slave to populism and corruption.

To be quite honest i haven´t been in your country, but the only disadvantage i see in living in sweden (or Norway or Denmark) is that it is a boring as fuck country, there's absolutely no nightlife and people seems autistic as shit.
On the other i pretty much envy your non corupt politicians and the good salaries, and yes, many of that money goes to taxes but at least your universities and your healthcare are almost free.
