Crisis slowed down everything, now we are waiting. Next two-three years will show. I'm looking forward to rebuilding the country's food production ruinned by easy imports and tax reforms in 90s. Alright, let me skip some common facts like the state of our economy. Aside from that I like many things. City life becomes better: more modernization, services, etc. Only immigration makes it worse but most illegal flows were stopped several times ago. Anyways, immigration is only Moscow & St. Petersburg issue. In my hometown it's drain of Russians so it becomes less intersting, advanced and educated, culture and history is replaced. It's pretty sad but with our modern government's policy is inevitable. Whatever. There's nothing to discuss until all Soviet mindset is forgotten. Oil is needed for our whole modern way of life, there is no other cheap precursor for organic chemicals, plastics and polymers, medicine etc.

I am curious to see how Russia deals with changes in the energy markets. A significant portion of their soft power comes from oil and natural gas, we see how Europe balked at sanctions due to the fears of Russian energy prices spiking in retaliation.
Mind you, a version of those sanctions still passed, and are still in effect today, but with so much of the Russian economy and fiat budget relying on better oil and gas prices I wonder what the future will hold if they remain low.
