You also need carbs to get big and rice is great for that, you can't get big on rice of course but one pic doesn't reflect his whole diet.
It's true though that Asians generally have less muscle because they eat less meat and proteïne then we do in the West.

Why do people even eat rice to start with?
It's like pure carbs. If you want carbs might as well go for potatoes instead or black beans, which come with a massive amount of proteins, potassium, vitamins and iron.
Black beans is everything rice ever wished to be.
