They have a variety of colors depending on the environment. A month ago I was at the foot of a volcano and lizards were almost black with reddish brown spots, just like basalt rocks in the ground.
>>
>>52798692
>>52798859
I think they have built some sort of hidden lizard city in the courtyard of my apt building, the damn things are everywhere.

>tfw no volcanoes in Florida

That's awesome, color changing lizards are the best animals to have around. So much variety depending on where they hang out.

We have iguanas here too but they aren't native and don't change color afaik.
>>
>>52799040
I know exactly how that is, I can't go outside without seeing a dozen of these things scampering around. They also manage to get into my apartment but I don't mind because they help control the other bugs that infest this state.

Are you a Floridafag too?

>>

Are you sure that's a lizard? Looks a hell of a lot like a snake to me?

Any articles on wikipedia about them?

We have these instead, we call them "lagartijas"
>>
>>52799238
Well congrats on not being stuck in the shithole that is most of Louisiana. But yeah I figured you guys would have much of the same animals we have since you're also a swamp.
>>
>>52799321
we're far more important than Mississippi or Alabama at least.
>>
>>52799361
You're slightly more important than two of the shittiest states in the US. Congratulations.
>>
>>52799352
Argentina bros picture has that name on his as well, I guess those species are all over Latin America.

But yeah ours are called anoles, and they're all over the southeast US and Caribbean apparently.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anoles

Just got back from an out of state trip and realized I didn't see these all over the place so I got curious.
>>
>>52799307
Neat, thanks for the link.

Another example for us is pic related, which apparently Euros don't have.

I think "lagartija" is just a common name for little lizards in all the Hispanic nations.

They are everywhere, houses, trees, rocks and I see them all year round. I used to catch them when I was a little kid. If you catch them by their tails, their tail would just fall off and they would escape. Fast little (around 3 inches) fuckers.

This is the article in spanish
https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sceloporus_grammicus

And in english
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sceloporus_grammicus

For some reason the Spanish article is a little, jus very little more detailed.

That is a neat looking snake, reminds me of a coral snake.
>>
>>52799333
Steppes have sneks, lizards, rodents, birds and other small things, no camels.
>Russia have that no one else does?
Yes, we have some.
>>
>>52799571
they are literally living in the forest next to my house.
>>
>>52799629
They sound a lot like ours even though they are a different species, these things are also quick as hell and the tails grow back.

I was curious about this subject because I went to Okinawa recently and realized that they didn't have any little lizards all over the place, so I figured other countries would have crazy animals I've never heard of.
>>
>>52799669
They look great, there's a lot of "fake" harmless coral snakes too. I've seen both, the real ones behave different when you meet them, they hide the head and raise the tip of the tail imitating the real head.
>>
>>52799736
Yeah there are colonies in Germany and the Caucasus that were introduced from America, raccoons are adaptive as fuck and I heard they had established a large population in Germany but hadn't spread outside of it yet.

C-cute
>>
>>52799759
I'm very familiar with corals, they are way too common here in Florida. Always thought it was neat that so many species imitated their color patterns.

Lizards? They only appear during summer and usually are in piles of wood. I'ven't seen one for a year or two though.
