I live in a border state and the answer is yes. There really isn't that much they have to adapt to. The only thing is many don't speak a word of English. If you work in an industry that has a lot of immigrants, say fast food, Americans may be turned down from management positions because they can't speak Spanish.
Other than that I don't really mind them. They work hard and don't cause trouble for fear of being deported.
The neighborhoods are segregated here so it's easy to avoid shitty Mexican neighborhoods.
