http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2015-12-08/china-surpasses-japan-as-asia-s-top-high-tech-exporter-adb-says
>China has brought to an end Japan’s dominance of Asia’s high-technology exports, according to the Asian Development Bank.
>China’s share of Asia’s exports of high-tech goods such as medical instruments, and aircraft and telecommunications equipment rose to 43.7 percent in 2014 from 9.4 percent in 2000, the ADB said. Japan’s share slid to 7.7 percent last year from 25.5 percent in 2000. Southeast Asian nations including Malaysia and Philippines also lost market share.
>The shift marks China’s success in boosting innovation and technology as key drivers of its economy as it seeks to move up the manufacturing value chain. Low-tech goods accounted for 28 percent of China’s exports in 2014, compared with 41 percent in 2000, according to ADB’s Asian Economic Integration Report 2015 released Tuesday.
>China-made drones, smart phones, and even high-speed trains have become internationally competitive and the number of enterprises in the high-tech manufacturing sector has tripled to almost 30,000 from less than 10,000 in 2000, Shang-Jin Wei, ADB chief economist, said in an e-mail.
>China also leads in exports of low-tech goods such as textiles, food and beverages, and wood, pulp and paper products. It had a 55.4 percent market share in 2014, followed by India with 9.4 percent.

China doesn't create any of the tech that we use. They just make it. There's a difference between manufacturing capacity and actual innovation. China severely lacks the latter.

The article said China is innovating though. And while YOU personally may not be buying China designed products, junglegooks and pinoys are which is shown on the graph.
if china defeat america or russia, we support china
Japan is just going to become a regional power like france was 30years ago. Or the autonomous 'Far East District' ,if the Chinese get rash.
>>52792154
It's nothing new.
As China's "export" contains Japanese companies' goods assembled in China, it's only natural that they have a larger export statistically. In terms of R&D they are still subhuman-tier and no match for Japan though. Plus, as opposed to common misunderstanding, Japanese economy has the lowest trade dependency among OECD, it's not an export oriented economy in the first place, so it's a pretty irrelevant competition.

>nothing new
Seems new considering OP's table and source.
I LOVE CHINA!
>>52793350
Nah, it's just the news for the sake of news. Everybody knows not only Japan but also a lot of foreign corporations have built countless factories in China since 2000.

>WHEN IS CHINA BUBBLE GOING TO BURST GUYS
they are spamming about the burst of chinese "bubble" since 10 years atleast
the thing is, China has more than 1 350 000 000 citizens, who are slowly, patiently and consistently taking what is theirs - the dominant position in world economy and politics

Considering the whole former colonies/investment thing, it makes sense. China is the main investor and foreign aid provider for shitholes.
The reason first world places dislike China is because it's the useful scapegoat for all ills in the world economy. Offshoring, loss of manufacturing, pollution, and super smart asian kids taking my child's spot at university.
>>52796878
You only spread propaganda in "nice successful countries".
But people are waking up regardless. Europe starting to realize they have been cucked by USA with Syria refugee crisis and Russian sanctions.
UK first to "betray" the US by joining the AIIB, followed by most of Europe.
Europe reveals how it was cucked via corporate and political espionage by USA.
China does not have to spend a cent, opinions are changing as China continues its ascent.

They know that their previous golden ages were ended by hoards of invading barbarians and horsemen, so they're trying to head the threat off at the pass.

Don’t you know Japan is the leading country on production in China. It’s Japan, Panasonic, that built China’s first foreign-affiliated factory after 改革開放 policy started (the CCP eagerly asked Japan to move factories there because its relation with western nations wasn’t good back then in part due to commy, oppression of democracy and too alien), and it has always been one of the biggest investors (and by far the biggest supporter) to China. And since the wage gap between Japan and China was way broader than that of Korea and China, lots of Japanese corporations were motivated to do so. Japan’s shrinking working age population and economy’s transition from manufacturing to service also helped. Now, if Japanese companies sell their products assembled in China in Japan, it’s counted as Chinese exports on trade statistics.

So you are saying Japanese jobs went to China and make many Japs unemployed, while Korea manage to keep their factories and jobs even after China become world factory?
Is that why Japan has near-0% growth for decades?

Actually Japan’s unemployment rate is very low among developed nations, but its working age population peaked in the 90’s and is shrinking at the fastest rate, that’s the main reason why Japan don’t grow compared to the US and UK who somewhat maintain that. It’s difficult to grow when both the total and working age population is shrinking, especially given the fact Japan had already reached literally the TOP (it’s easier for emerging nations that have much room to improve to grow).
1995 GDP per capita:
Japan 42,552
Norway 34,875
Germany 31,729
USA 28,782
UK 21,330
Korea 12,403
China 607

Demographically, Korea has become the state of the early 90’s Japan recently, so its growth rate is getting declining nowadays.
