At a perfect level. Norwegians are very productive as it is, and I don't think there is any point in increasing or decreasing the amount of workhours.

Why would that be unbelievable?
>>
>>52738615
On your deadbed your biggest regret will be that you have wasted to much of your life working.
>>
Today is my day off.
>>
I believe we live in a twisted world, we have created a bizarre system in which we keep telling ourselves that world will never be complete, but by working harder and more it will be more complete tomorrow. I fully believe 20-30% of our current work hours are spent inefficiently, and dropping those hours wouldn't reduce the output of our work and would increase our free time (and personal happiness). We have the technology to keep good living standards without working ourselves to the grave, it's just we are missing the will to do so.

I know i know, sounds bit commie doesn't it? No it doesn't, has nothing to do with communism, but just the idea we are building a sick and twisted world.

France in a nutshell. I worked in the US

Those retards have barely any vacations, social policies and time to enjoy life (even tho they think they do).

And I have witnessed that, while everyone in France is home at 5pm. Most of my coworkers stayed til 7:30pm and barely got anything done past 3:00pm.

They are getting cucked by life.
>>
>>52738307
8 hour average workday times 365 minus some holidays... works out to that number I guess. Probably a bit less since people take sick leave and have other errands to run while workday. And I don't think most people are at their post 8 o'clock sharp and close shop 17:00, though these variations are probably accounted for.
>>
>>52739127
continued

Whereas I am now back in France.

And I enjoy high living standards and time with my friends and my family (and /int/) while americans are still working their butt off and aren't as productive.

Get shit done and then go home.
>>
>>52739127
Maybe that's why your economy is hot garbage.
>>
>>52738756
Who gives a shit. How long does someone spend on their deathbed anyway. Whatever it is it's a very small proportion of ones overall life.
>>
Being efficient is more important than ours. Which explains why germany and norway have the best economies on the list.

In japan you stay at the job and sleep or jerk off to hentai until your boss goes home. Who is also doing nothing.

Then you ponder harakiri on the overstuffed train home

Amazingly accurate, 6 weeks vacation and 6 weeks free days every year so around 1600 work hours per year in Sweden.

I guess the more developed, technically advanced and healthy a country is the shorter the work hours.

I am taking my hat off for the countries below Sweden in the list.

Well we do get a lot of vacation and somewhere between 36h and 40h is considered a normal full week. There are also many working half time.
If you only look at economic numbers, we are one of the most successful countries in Europe and even in the world. The DAX is forecasted to grow further and further in 2016. Efficiency is key, not the pure amount of hours.

I used to be a leftist (due to highschool indoctrination) but after I graduated from school I got two good decent jobs and for months I worked 80+ hours a week among lazy coworkers who didn't actually do their job and at the same time complained about the "unfair system", rich people, politicians or how they were "forced" to live paycheck to paycheck and couldn't save shit (they spent all their spare money on alcohol, partying, weed, lottery tickets or the latest iPhone).

Since then I've had no compassion for "wageslaves". They're dumb, lazy people with zero economic sense and no long term vision.

>inb4 mad neets
>>
>>52740889
You have like 4 weeks of vacation per year - not including sunday which is no working day - you are not allowed to let your people work in that day excluding some special exeptions.

1371/(365-35-11*4) would be 4.74 working hours per day if you work also saturdays
5.59 if you calculate it for a 5 day week.

Thats actually not the case - full employed people normally work in a 40h workhours a week in a 5 day week.
Parttimers do around 19hs a week.
Both numbers are from a 2014 statistic.
>>
>>52738615
If everyone works too much and does it for the country, who profits from it? I guess the worker are somehow not the country.

I have absolutely no fucking clue how they came up with Germany's numbers unless they counted every single part-time waitress towards them because in permanent employment with 40 hour weeks you work roughly 1800 hours a year.

>>
>>52738307
This chart actually tells very little.

The portion of people who work part time and people who work full time are different in each country. I assume this chart has combined both full time and part time workers, leading to countries like Greece being on top (9% of people work part time) while countries like Germany are on the bottom (26% of people work part time).

If you wanted to know how long working hours are in each country, you should only be comparing the working hours of full time workers. This shit leads you to think that working in Japan isn't horrible, because the fact that 40% of their workers are part time puts them in the middle of the chart, when in full time working hours they'd be on the top.
>>
>>52754309

I'd probably be doing the exact same thing if I were at home as I now do during those hours at work - read books, browse internet. Doesn't bother me too much. What I dislike is that during winter months it eats up all the daylight hours.
