We used to live in a totally isolated place. During commie times the government had to control people by making them nationalistic in order to forget real problems. Once communism fell, all the unfairly jailed people were freed and they migrated everywhere. What can you expect from people who spent half of their lives in jail? They had trouble to adapt to western societies and thus they stuck more and more to nationalism. Nowadays Albania is recovering rapidly and is getting closer to the west, but communism fucked up our economy totally and we have yet to recover that.
