Why do rightist politicians in the West love pic related? He destroyed Russia's economy and currency, they have a smaller GDP than Italy now. This on top of being a statist who censors all oppositional speech and who stands for everything opposed to Western civilization.

Probably that. Also

Um, our conservatives hate Putin.
>>
>>52706488
Trump supporters love him though.
>>
>>52706590
You mean /pol/ likes him
>>
>>52705805
Probably because the cold war ended years ago and we need to get over it. Speaking from an American perspective, most of it has to do with homosexual marraige(the right likes that he banned it, the left doesn't) as most people here are incredibly stupid and base all of their opinions on hot button issues rather than actual policy or rational thought.

Personally I think it's their country and they can run it into the ground if that is what they want. Personally I'd rather foster good relations because we're both very powerful countries and would accomplish more together.
>>
>>52706650
Sorry not banned but is against it

The fuck are you talking about? It's objectively much better now than when he first started
>>
>>52705805
Actually it was the sanctions that wrecked the Russian economy, together with the fall of petrol prices. The real GDP of Russia didn't shrink at all, it was the free fall of the rubble that fucked the nominal GDP on the currency conversion

The United States is a country that is intellectually dominated by SJWery. Most of the big newspapers, academia and entertainment industry are all progressive.

Many of those posting here on /int/ under US flags, are self-hating progressive white males. The problem is even worse on other boards, where virtually all white males are progressive and despise their own class, race and sex.

2000 still had 1998 aftereffects. Everything is so expensive now when Ruouble is destroyed. i don't blame Putin alone for not building a modern economy - it's people's and businesses contribution that should've been done. But. It's clear USA lowered oil prices because they saw we are expanding again. Should've waited for proper economy first, take clay back second so nobody could do big harm to us. Maybe we should've used diplomacy and cunning, not Ukrainian coup to interfere. It wasn't a wise move. Not wise at all. We should learn how to make anything we want and look like good guys on a political arena, should learn from USA. they can even openly bomb civilians and get away with that. I'm not saying we should kill innocents either, just learn form USA ways. Taking good from the West is good for us. Not taking bad acting recklessly.

Wait, you think the similar culture of the UK and US comes completely from them influencing us? It had nothing to do with the British ideas of Liberalism, laissez faire capitalism and so on being spread to America and other places?

We are meant to be talking about right-wing politics ITT. Because you're a fucking idiot I'm going to give you some strong hints about how thick you are. In this picture you can see how long the Tories (a right-wing party) have been around. Look at the picture, engage your shrivelled pathetic excuse for a brain, and compare with when the USA was founded.

Maybe you are saying the USA invented a time travel machine and influenced our right-wing politics before their country existed?

Of course it is. The cultural dominance of the US has most impact in the English speaking world. Not to mention that you've lost your political autonomy after WW1.

US and UK right-wing are both economically liberal and prefer a small state. They also tend to be "small c" conservative. Of course there are many differences too (their stances on religion, immigration and monarchy, for example). But they are distinct from some of the statist right-wing parties of the European continent.

Obviously they haven't been around in that very form even though they may have resembled them in one way or another. In the end, the British identity of today is a product of the US.

The French centre-right UMP/Les Républicains was in government from 2007 to 2012. They have a few liberal elements but they are Gaullist, which means 'statist' among other things. Look at pic related. Sarkozy left office with spending at 56.8% GDP, even before the financial crisis it was 52% GDP.

That is a statist party, very distinct from the British centre-right.

Thank you for proving me right. In your graph, a centre-right party was leading the government since 2010. Prior to that it was Labour since 1997. Can you see what happens to government spending as a % GDP since 2010?

It is already far below where the French centre-right took it. That is because the British centre-right have been privatising state-owned assets and cutting government spending. They will reach 36% GDP by 2020 if Conservatives take their plans to fruition.

Do you see the major difference yet? It's a pretty glaring and obvious difference.

The NHS is better state-owned because of the efficiencies you get from the single-payer system. The Americans actually pay more in taxes for healthcare than the British, and then they pay the same again out of their pockets. That is partly because of the overheads (insurance companies etc) you get from privatised healthcare

I am in favour of privatising most things, but only when it's efficient to do so. Healthcare is not like other products.

There is something wrong with you. You're unable to understand basic concepts. The Tory aim of 36% GDP government spending is clearly closer to the US than it is to the French centre-right's legacy of 56.8% GDP. But you are judging the Tories on their first few years in government, straight after the crash, straight after 13 years of Labour government.

>Nanny state thinks he's closer to US republicans, fucking lel

Interesting, why are you trying to change the subject to something I never suggested? From the start my only issue was with the anon who said Europe's right-wing parties were "statist and collectivist". It was on that specific point I said we were closer to the US Conservatives. The British centre-right do indeed favour a smaller state. You are trying to twist what I said and pretend I was saying we're closer to the US right-wing in general. You are resorting to lies because you've completely failed.

>we're totally closer to the US conservatives
>just look at the US spending under the liberals!
Have the US Conservatives been in government post-recession? No they haven't. You don't need a graph to know that the American right-wing favours a small state. They talk about it all the fucking time. I am only stating the obvious here.

If the US Republicans want an even smaller state than the British Conservatives, the basic philosophy of small government and minimal state interference in the economy is the same. In contrast, some continental European centre-right parties like the UMP retain a Gaullist tradition and have stakes in many large companies. You have to see the fundamental difference in philosophy.

You clearly don't understand basic facts about the USA, if you were insulting me for saying the USA is a federation, and suggesting a one-to-one comparison between federal and total (unitary) government spending. Maybe you would have more success if the future if you educated yourself, just a thought.

I understand his actions in the Ukraine because Crimea especially is essentially Russian land that should have been given to Russia in '92.

Everything else thought has been retardedly short-sighted. He has neither the economy nor demographics to be a superpower like he wants, Russia has half the population and GDP of the Soviet Union in 1992, but he pushes people around on the global stage (Georgia 2008) and wastes money on pointless projections of power (Syria) to make himself seem big. $40 billion on Sochi for what reason? $1 billion into the KHL every year for what reason? Khrushchev gave Crimea to Ukraine SSR in the late '50s as an act of goodwill that had no real effect since the SSRs were all puppet states. When the USSR collapsed, the SSRs became independent and their borders stood as the post-independence borders. He never would have done it had he known, since Crimea was almost all Russians at that point.

Transnistria was the old border between the Russian Empire and the Ottomans. It got settled with Russians, and then was integrated into Moldova when they took that from Romania in the '40s. When independence came around, they decided to break away since they figured Moldova was just going to reintegrate into Romania at some point.

He had his mistakes, but anyway he did right thing, enforced some reforms(like pensions/election procedures/etc.) against will of people, but in the end we understood it was right thing. Then came Medvedev, which is his protege, and medvedev did just weird shit, but in the end, he changed nothing. And then putin came again...
He is just a man, with restrictions of human body, mind and personality. He is now too influenced now with oligarchs which he let live in 00's, his elite and all this shit. Now he have no authority inside country to do whatever he wants. His ministeries broke, and those which are still adequate matter nothing: Ministery's of Work opinion is not listened, Ministery of jurisdiction, which was meant to regulate everything, got "regulated" on Khuy of anyone who has even a tiny piece of power. At least our Ministery of Foreign Affairs is ok, and Lavrov is kawaii, trying to get everyone's boiled shit together.
You see, Putin now for us is like Doshirak you bought on your last 26 rubles: Yeah, this shit traumatize your stomach, but at least you can eat something.
Also, in 00' he was best politician in the terms of Tao te Tzin: everyone knew about him only that he exists.
