I realized that I hardly know a thing about Turkey and Turks except the genocides and all the horrible things they've done to people, tell me something positive about Turkey that deserves my respect.

They are a stalwart ally of the West
>>
>>52683896
They are an easy target for jokes
>>

The Ottomans were based allies who distracted the Spanish for us.
They also export kebab.
>>
>>52683896
They do what they're told.
>>
>>52683896
They collected muslamic artifacts and pieces of history defending them from proto-salafists and destruction
They were pretty tolerant, can you imagine getting conquered by Arabic Caliphate? You'd all turn into Arabs like nations of West Asia/North Africa
Ataturk and Co were pretty based

There's very little positive feedback to give.

Youre greek though, shouldn't you have a desire to kill them after all the genocides and shit.

I thought that's Romans?

>>52687430
I wish we haven't defended Vienna from them, Turks were our best allies in history literally only ones who haven't acknowledged our partitions
Meanwhile Austrians backstabbed us, that's how they thanked for it
>>

>I thought that's Romans?
Trojans were most likely Greek, though they didn't consider themselves Hellenes.
One of the founding myths of Rome includes refugees from Troy though.

Your best allies are some sandniggers who forgot to draw lines on a map of poland?
>>
>>52687430
The Turks ended up turkifying the majority of the late medieval Greek-speaking population, anyway, see Anatolia.

Also re: Arabs, see Iran, the Kurds, Armenians, the survival of Coptic until much later.

Both the (Latin) Romans and the Ottoman Turks appropriated the Trojan theme.

The Byzantines sometimes identified with the Trojans but more often, especially later on when antagonism with Western Europeans and Turks flared, with the Achaeans.
>>
Even though i'm a turk (genetically too) Turks in history are a mere barbarian horde. That's all

poland never has had any real allies desu, they always got backstabbed.
>>
>>52687577
Nah that's Hungarians

But Turks yeah at least they were sympathetic towards us, can't say that about our other "allies" (France, UK, US - effects of Ribbentrop-Molotov and Yalta, you know)
Not only forgot, they were always waiting for ambassador of "government in exile" of Poland when negotiating stuff

Literally everything I know about the Turks is also what I've been told by them by Greeks.

It's kind of funny visiting Greece for that reason - every single monument, landmark, statue, any fucking touristic place will always, at some point, have a sign that mentions how the landmark was partially destroyed in whatever year by the Ottomans/Turks.

told about* them by Greeks, not "by".
