Im really interested in learning amongst other languages, finnish. Do you guys have any good resources available on public domain? Icelandic is great because they have whole courses up to advanced levels published online by one of their universities.
Also, your pronunciation is very difficult. Do you roll your tongue a lot while speaking? words like ajatella always sound awkward to me. I havent been able to pick up finnish patterns of speech very well.

yes. meat, salt, black pepper and vegetables in various forms. turnips, potatoes, carrots and maybe some fresh green herbs and butter. not really other spices. slow cooking is popular for traditional dishes.
rosvopaisti mentioned above is pretty much the ultimate dish of this type. you dig a hole in sand like a small grave, put rocks on the bottom, burn a big campfire, when it's dying you wrap up meat (anything, chunk of beef, pork, even an entire lamb) with vegetables into a foil and put it on the hot rocks and coal, cover with sand and leave for 6-12 hours. not really worth the effort unless you have 10+ people but popular for holidays like midsummer and absolutely delicious as the juices and flavours mix slowly

it's notable that everyone in finland has a summer house even if it's shared with extended family and spending midsummer in the city is sadder than christmas alone so it's not as far fetched or exotic as it may sound to have a place to dig a hole in the ground for cooking
