Germany does feel different (a different more gloomy and Stalker-ish vibe, especially the Ruhr region and Northern Germany) than the rest of Western Europe, that is real Western Europe (France, Belgium, Netherlands and Switzerland I'd say). I would consider Southern Germany to be culturally Western European too; quite a similar mentality, which is neither Nordic nor Eastern Europe.
The UK is a class on its own.
