It's a crab-bucket mentality/tall poppy syndrome that has evolved and it's present in almost every successful culture.
Every culture is plagued with gynocentrism and a zeitgeist of reaffirming the importance of natality and women's role in that. It is more important for a tribe that as many as the women become pregnant than the top 30% or whatever.
Collectivism stops particular women from standing out as the female analogue of an "alpha" as that would diminish and devalue the sexual value of the rest of the women in her tribe/society - men would only lust after her.
Whilst the sexual marketplace is much more complex than this, standing out is more important as a man than it is as a woman - plus there are non-sexual/reproductive reasons also.

Oftentimes abusive husbands force women to become housewives because they become easier to control and less likely to leave because they have no skills or resources. This is a bigger problem than divorce, given that divorce is a godsend in cases where either partner is involved in cheating, abuse, addiction, etc. Not sure where this 'divorce is a bad thing' meme comes from. Much better to split and find someone who makes you happy than spend the rest of your life with someone you hate. Children brought up in that sort of environment usually end up with a lot of emotional and psychological damage and are more likely to have fucked up relationships as well, as they model their behavior in their relationships after their dysfunctional parents'.

What does it matter to you? You're never going to get married or have a family of your own, so what other people do within their own families should be none of your concern.
Plus, if a man wants a 'traditional lifestyle' nowadays, they're being taken for a fool. Unless a woman has an infant, modern housekeeping takes about two hours tops every day. The rest of that time is spent bumming around the house, meeting with friends, etc. The only woman who's happy being a housewife is a lazy POS who wants to coast through life on her husband's hard work. Women of high quality value being productive and making meaningful contributions to the household.
