Harald Foss! Where did you discover him?

Heresone of my favourites from him: The ballad of the battle of Stanford Bridge (With english caption)

I discovered him while looking for Norwegian history.

I met a Norwegian guy who was from Tromso (sorry don't know how to write the proper O for Tromso) while visiting Germany and he told me about Harald Foss.

BTW do you have any typical norwegian lullabies?

Yes, Stanford Bru is really nice, where the enormous legendary Berserker held out the english army at bay by himself if I'm not wrong.

Is the Norwegian used by Harald Foss Bokmal or Nynorsk?
>>
>>52591823
what's the song about?

can you tell me what instrument is used at the beginning of the song?

Harald Foss sings in a dialect that is very close to nynorsk. He is from the Telemark region of Norway if i remember correct.

My parents used to sing me this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OnByYpNCAR8

Translated lyrics:

The wind rides high in sky
over sea and land and city.
The storm rages heavy and white.
Grief and death do not come here!

Some come, some go.
Some die in the prime of life.
Stars shine white.

Maybe it was that once you bore
a wreath of myrtle in your hair
Maybe after the day's deed
Your hair will get a silver thread.

Some come, some go.
Some die in the prime of life.
Stars shine white.

Where you tread a trail and road
follow many after you
Make sure that there always grow
flowers in your ploughshare furrow.

Some come, some go.
Some die in the prime of life.
Stars shine white.

Life weaves on its tapestry
what you do, think, write
Everything stands in the tapestry
Life's shuttle goes and goes.

Some come, some go.
Some die in the prime of life.
Stars shine white.

In Spain we have different traditional musics depending on the region but in my opinión i think that the music that represent all the country is the one that is played by a classical guitar.
>>
>>52594567
>not representative at all

Actually, the characteristics of resian folk music were common across a lot of the slovene lands back in the day (apart from the instrumentation).
Similar things were found for Prekmurje and Koroška.
Don't know much about pre-choir Kranjska music though, there's only like 1 heavily modified Katalena song.
