well, milan compared to rome is inevitably less charming and has fewer interesting paces to see, but nonetheless it's a very nice place with many things to see and do, starting from the modern art galleries, pretty interesting sights and a lots of pubs and good restaurants. It's also very easy to visit as a tourist because public transport is very good and inexpensive. Also, it has fewer tourists than florence, rome and venice so it's much more easy to actually see something good and enjoy the place. on the downside, it's quite expensive and the weather is usually worse than in the rest of italy (nothing compared to non mediterranean countries btw).
