There are, but not so much like between Russian and Ukrainian or Belorussian. Some words sound very different.

Norwegian and French. I want to learn Polish and Old Tupi in the future, even though they are completely useless
Sharing my little slice of autism, this is one of my methods of collecting useful vocab and sentence structures.
I take my favorite TV shows and movies, and align their subtitles with translated versions. It's pretty fun to read and it's really effective for slang.
