Pumpkin is called ”Kabocha” in Japan. Original name is ”Cambodia”.
Portuguese brought it from Cambodia to Japan in the 16th century.

Potato is called "Peruna" in Finland.
Turns out it does not actually have anything to do with Peru though, as the word originates from Swedish word for pear.
Neger (negroe) is a beer shandy of wheat beer and coca cola. Hick people drink it.
It is named like that because it's black.
On the other hand, there is a beer shandy which is called Russ (Russian). Instead of coca cola, lemon soda is mixed with wheat beer. This one is actually quite good on hot summer days.
