No offence intended, but, fuck off. One of the main reasons you got that many "illegal" immigrants was precisely because of the NAFTA agreement.
And I agree, I am thankful that Mexico is right next to the U.S. For the most part, at least, since Lincoln got into power and you left that manifest destiny mentality anyway. And I agree because you are surrealistically our best allie and because that's probably the reason we aren't worse than what we are right now, the reason actually have a chance of getting out of being a shithole.
The thing is, we needed a treaty like NAFTA if we wanted to improve, the problem was the terms in which it was signed. They never added the correct regulations in order to make sure that the mexican farmers could be somewhat competitive with multinationals. With the treaty we got, we got completely screwed over, and the only ones who really benefited, wasn't even your population, it was multinationals owners. In the process, they single handedly destroyed mexican agriculture and forced millions of people to leave the country.
And lastly, you need to fucking end that stupid "war on drugs" and legalize drugs if you truly want to act as if it's a perfect thing being right next to you.
