I was one of the first responders during the Fukashima incident. I was off the coast of Japan immediately after the accident for three months, and then we pulled it.
What I found was that the Japanese were really clean and orderly. Even the corner stores felt like hospitals. I was in some rural areas, and everything appeared almost robotic in nature. I was only on land for about four days though.
