They were talking about South Germans being fat, lazy, problematic and racially inferior to northern Germans

Was it a joke or something? I mean, South Germany is fucking great

Its bavaria.

Good landscapes,
Good food.
Good beer.
Best economy.
Best salaries.

But it was not always so. Bavaria is the biggest war winner of all the german states. A little fact they often forget. That it was, before the war, very rural area is still pretty much alive in their culture.

Köln, Hamburg and Berlin are great cities. Hamburg is a beautiful city with lots of bridges and water. Other than the harbour there is the famous fish market, the Miniatur Wunderland, the Reeperbahn, many good restaurants etc.

Frankfurt on the other hand is pretty boring. It has a nice small oldtown (with parts being reconstructed at the moment) and the skyscrapers, but other than that, there isn't much to do. I would rather recommend Köln.

The Hofkirche isn't a part of the Neumarkt and I know for a fact that it, the Zwinger, and the Oper were reconstructed by the state.

That's what reconstruction generally is, there's no need to rebuild the interior according to past needs. Especially not if most of the reconstruction of "normal" wall to wall houses will be used as residences.

>>

Berlin, Hamburg and Bremen are own federal states.

Bremen is a meme state.

Same as Saarland.
>>
Franconia, clearly.

It's a part of bavaria but it's like a individual state.

Franconia is the birthplace of, and has the biggest plants of:
>adidas
>puma

>schaefler, which is the global leading manufacturer of bearings

>playmobil
>simba dickie group

The famous city of Nuremberg, wich was the centre of medieval germany, is in franconia
The biggest site of Siemens, the biggest engineering manufacturer in europe, is in Franconia as well

So somewhere between Palatine Forest and Hunsrück. Not from there (about 90km to the North-North-East but same state), what made them emigrate to Ireland of all places?
Our village had a lot of emigrants to 'Murrica (mostly PA) and Huezil in 18th and 19th century because of lack of war(!) resulting in overpopulation and therefore famine, with the many volcanic winters around that time giving an extra boost

So do Germans have any strong identity towards their regions or are they like Americans with their states?
>>
>>52526209
>>52526473
>some guy writes "the golden book" saying that the US (specifically Carolina) is heaven on earth
>publishes it in Germany cos he wants more whites in Carolina
>Germans read the book and believe all the bullshit in it
>refugees from the War of the Spanish Succession go to England
>the Golden Book said the queen would give them land in America
>thousands of German peasants descend on London
>Brits don't want them
>can't send them all to America
>send some to Ireland and give them land cos they're protestant
My family's story ends here, they came to Rathkeale in Limerick in 1709 and stayed there for ~200 years before moving to Dublin.
My grandfather changed his surname from a German one to an Irish one.

However the story continues:
>a lot of the Germans didn't like Ireland
>those who could afford to go back to England or Germany did
>some managed to get passage to New York with the Royal Navy
>there they had to work as indentured servants making pitch (tar) for the navy
>after their servitude was over many prospered
>the descendants of these people are often called the "Pennsylvania Dutch"
>Elvis Presley was descended from them

Irish Palatines are known for Anglicised versions of German surnames, for example Switzer (owners of one of Dublin's biggest dept. stores until recently), Presley (Elvis obviously) and Bovenizer (my family name).

Only pesants do.
>>
>>52527275
We usually have strong identities towards our states, that's why many people have their state flags in front of their houses instead of the federal flag. A special case is Franconia, a region in Bavaria that wants to be seperate.

Solange es die Westküste ist, ist dieses Land wunderschön.
Und auch die Ostküste hat seine Vorzüge.
