A mentally ill Sikh guy got shot by the cops in my town. The guy's family called the cops to ask the cops to help look for him and when they found him they shot him, I think multiple times, because he had a kitchen knife or something and was schizo. He died. He was a U.S. miltary vet, too.

I grew up next to a Sikh community. I think they are somewhat overrated, but they were good neighbors and I went to school with some of their kids. While most of what OP said is true (they were all into American culture and whatnot), they're not perfect. They're human.

Historically they lived under oppressive Muslim emperors and they rebelled against them.
Sikhs have Islamic 'saints', the Sikh guru visitted the Islamic holy city of Mecca, some Sikhs have aligned themselves with Pakistan over India for reasons.
