>>
>>52492874
People posting here from 3rd world are usually smarter than the americans using 4chan
>>
>>52492874
Don't they get bombarded with English language media?
That and pressure to learn such a widely spoken language.
>>
English is very easy to pick up but quite difficult to master imo. The good side is, there are so many shows and other entertainment shit that its very easy to inmerse yourself in the language.ΒΈ

t. native spanish speaker
>>
Because you're looking at it the wrong way. it's the other way around - they come here and stay here BECAUSE they are some of the few in their country that have mastered the language.

This is also why [imo] the non-native english speakers here are on average a lot more intelligent and constructive than the native speakers. There's a reason the brits, irish, aussies and maple leaves are such shitposters here.
>>
It's quite present in everyday life in a lot of places. Think that's mainly it. Except in France.

Often, people are exposed to English but only in short phrases or words like "shopping", so their English skills are still very poor. It's often just marketing.

the fastest way to learn a language is refusal to speak english. immersion is just one piece of the pie. if you speak no english in a specific situation (like when speaking to a polish friend or shitposting in a polish general) you will learn a language way faster

By "shitty-third world countries" I assume you mean like Africa and Latin America and Asia outside of China, Japan and Korea (perhaps also India and Pakistan). It's pretty obvious that they're shit at English from what I've seen on /int/.

Most of the people responding to this are Europeans for some reason, not people from 3rd world countries, I don't know why you're talking about your experiences as if it matters to the OP's question.
>>
>>52494630
except it is right
in English we say 'I have practiced since I was six' or 'I've been practicing since I was 6.'
you're wrong. all the native speakers are telling you that you're wrong. is your ego that huge that you're going to continue to believe that you are right?

I was watching a video of like a 12-year old Swede going on a plane trip up to the north of Sweden a while ago.

The video was entirely in Swedish, but she randomly added in some English phrases like "I'm so excited!'. It was pretty striking.

And it seems fairly common for even people in 3rd world countries, who are in like elementary school, to randomly add English to their conversations in their native languages, like, "Awesome", "Fuck yeah". Conversely, most American elementary school kids who are interested in other languages get shunned by their peers.

And on a more extreme level, you'll have my friends in Pakistan who write everything on their Facebook in English, and talk overwhelmingly in English to all their Paki friends online and in real life. They're just as likely to answer a phone call from a friend in English as in Urdu, even though all of their friends and classmates are native Pakis. It's an international school, something I didn't know existed until I met them, so that kind of mastery is expected, but it's still pretty remarkable

Basically any country where dubbing has been too expensive for a while.
With the amount of english media that bombards us from a young age, you get subbed shows you're gonna get pretty good pretty fast.
France and Germany are probably gonna catch up when they can't justify dubbing everything, I think it's already on it's way.
I don't know if other european countries dub a lot of stuff
