Sound argument friend.

Then you should use mili-Celsius (mC°).

Water freezes at 0 mC°, evaporates at 100.000 mC° and temperature of comfort is 23.000 mC°.

After all 1 mC° is worth less than 1 Fahrenheit rigth?

It would take over 50 years to pay itself off. Until everyone who grew up with Imperial died off, they would be asking for things in Imperial and would not understand metric things. Imagine going to a store and having a line of people at a scale because only one of them knows how to convert grams to ounces.

>What really happens is the new metric number is pasted on top of the old and the same sign now says "800 m" instead of "1/2 MILE"

And then everyone takes their traffic tickets to court, because they can't read the kp/h dial underneath the much larger mp/h one. The problem with that though is because the kp/h dial is usually hard to see, it becomes an ADA compliance issue as well.

So at the end of it, the court system is clogged up by people who can't read metric. This costs a lot of money.

In my state every car requires a safety inspection once every five years. Stickers on the gauge cluster = automatic fail. Which means your car gets towed if a police officer ever pulls you over.

In any state, police officers have the right to determine if your car is road-safe and complies with safety laws (such as having a minimum distance off the ground, or between the wheel and wheel well), which also includes tailpipe emissions, placard placement, complaint seatbelts (no NHTSB compliant five-point seatbelts exist and many tuners get fucked over it) and having an obstruction-free gauge cluster. Your car gets towed if it fails any of these tests, and must be towed out of the impound lot as well.

Its a square of 92 mm but it also has imperial wich has all measures in fractions of an inch like 0,867in. Why do you do this to yourself are you all mad or chronically stupid?

You're a special breed of retard, you know Celsius isn't restricted to units but you can use decimals? Of course you don't, you think your shitty counter intuitive system is better than metrics.

You can write 25,5 if you want to express a temperature halfway through 25 and 30 Celsius, if you want even more accuracy you just have to add numbers, 25,52, 25,524, etc.

From what I understand the speed of light in a vacuum is an exception, as it is basically the definition of infinite velocity with respect to the universe, since it's the cosmic speed limit.

In order for relativity to work, the observer would need to be able to detect the location of the particle (the photon in question), which is not possible, since the photon is moving at the cosmic speed limit.

That's what I understand from it, I could be wrong.

I lived in your country and rarely ever saw celsius being broken into decimals. Aside from the fact, that will never change that where I lived in Italy that I was living in a temperature range 20 while using celsius.

If you want to argue that using a system for your daily temperature when it falls in a range of 20 is superior, have at it, but you're retarded.

The speed of light (which is kind of a bad term) is constant as postulated by special relativity.

>Another assumption on the laws of physics made by the SI definition of the metre is that the theory of relativity is correct. It is a basic postulate of the theory of relativity that the speed of light is the same in all inertial frames. This can be broken down into two parts:

>The speed of light is independent of the motion of the observer.
>The speed of light does not vary with time or place.

We know this is true because despite the Earth's changing velocity and direction, nearly all measures of the speed of light have been the same.
>>
>>52466971

>I lived in your country and rarely ever saw celsius being broken into decimals
That's because when people want to know their place's temperature they don't need to know a ton of decimals, just having units or a single decimal is enough.
Metric matters more if you need to have an accurate measure for scientific purposes.

>>52466972
>Cause there is absolutely no way they're in some way objectively better for daily use than those two things
An average, random person that just needs to check temperature or glance at his car's speed counter is perfectly ok with using either system, it's when you need to gather those data for some kind of calculations, like forecast predictions or physics, that metric is superior.

Imperial is never better than metric, in any situation, it's on par when it comes to "daily use" like you said but for more complex or professional uses metric is flat superior for practicity and intuition.
There's a reason a lot of American scientists use metric, most prominent example being NASA, you know.
>>
>>52467333
Nothing is object then. Light or e/m wave is bunch if particles-waves and inly ones that have zero mass can move with speed of the light. And their speed will be constand relatively to anything, no matter what speed you have relatively to these photones their speed equals to 1c.

Yes.

That's exactly what I'm saying.
The value of c doesn't depend on the observer's velocity.

Umm, yea. I was just arguing for daily use. You realize in our science classes we use metric starting from a very young age, right? If you're talking to an American who is just a little bit educated they're going to have working knowledge of the metric system, even if they're unable to visualize distances/lengths etc from the numbers.

As for everything else in regard to daily use, I'm satisfied with arguing you down from calling us retarded to admitting that these things are on par for daily use.

The speed of light is a quantity that is the same regardless of where in the universe you measure it (no evidence for other theories yet exists).
