I feel your pain.
Sun is up about 0730ish and down by 1630sih.
We haven't had true sunny day in over a month. Sun comes up and it is a dull gray scale sky, since it is so warm right now we aren't even getting any snow to brighten it up with a nice blanket of white.
>>52463993
Awesome. How's it like there? Comfy?
>>52463814

>Here it rises at 11:29 and sets at 11:57
Senpaitachi, you've interpreted that wrong.
The sun rises 11:29 on 2nd of January 2016. It has set WEEKS ago. Kiruna has polar night for a few weeks, ya know.
>>52456765
sounds like heaven desu
can't wait for summer and 05:30 sunrises and 21:30 sunsets

>polar night.
Are you sure you mean polar night? That's defined when sun is 6 degrees below the horizon. I believe you mean it's below the horizon, but not actually a so-called "polar night", which they do have on Svalbard for example.
>>52464956
Yes, I'm sure. The definition depends on the context. In general, you mean that the sun does not rise above the horizon. Then there are several other more or less autistic definitions, if you're interested.
The sun has set at 11:46 on the 10th of December, and will rise again at 11:29 on the 2nd of January. I'll call that a polar night.
>>52464956
morketid
>>52465129
Yeah, you're right, on the English wiki page it uses Polar twilight for it when the sun is below the horizon but less than 6 degrees under (which is what we call "morketid" in Norway). Then they uses "civil polar night" for the definition I'm talking about - 6 or more degrees under (which we call polarnatt in Norway). You may have polar nights anyway, I don't even know how far north you need to be to get those, I suppose you're far enough north in any case.
>>52465321
Nevermind, none of us has it on the mainland.
>civil polar night is limited to latitudes above 72° 34', which is exactly 6° inside the polar circle. Nowhere on mainland Europe is this definition met. On the Norwegian territory of Svalbard, however, civil polar night lasts from about 11 November until 30 January.
