It may be interesting for somebody, so i will also post a photo of this town shortly after end of WW2. Half of polish population of this town was killed by Russians (soviets who occupied it from 1939 to 1941) and later Germans. Whole Jewish population of the town was killed in Treblinka after 1941.
>>52420698
Its not really that much of an issue. Our infrastructure is built around it, so most of the time there is space on the sidewalks to park bicycles. It can get out of control though, especially near railway stations. But is a nuisance more than anything.

it can be stressful and depressing but it has its own perks. you need a car to go to places and there's no public transport if you don't count buses that go every 1 or 2 hours (but not during night time, mind you)
but living there is comfy if you live by a lake or a pond.
>Or are there some cities around (not 1 hour away)
yes. I used to live 15 minutes away from a city centre.

Yeah, but most Finnish cities are small by European standards.
We had a cool factory by the village center but they are demolishing it now, or at least trying. I think they ran out of money.

Best image I could find. It's the latest addition to my hometown, supposed to be eco-friendly and all. In the best Dutch tradition, it's an artificial island built around the town's main road.
The town is alright, quiet clean and relatively modern. It was built on the bottom of a former lake that was drained a not even 200 years ago. That means I live 4 meters below sea level, at maybe 20 km from the coast. If the dykes break I'm fucked, but that has never really worried me.

The small scale makes it pretty comfy I'd say, and there's some nice historical cities. However, I think some of the mountain towns posted here look much more comfy. I love mountains and forests, instead I get pic related. Too manicured and flat for me. At least Britain has some nice hills.
