This is the North American barred owl. I saw one the other day just at sunset, diving into the woods behind my house. They're very beautiful animals and I look forward to seeing them in flight. Apparently their feathers make it so that their flight is virtually silent

I'd say it's an outgoing cultural practice that's almost non-existent today. The last pigeon meal I had was more than 20 years ago.

We call them the same. But that's said about city pigeons. Those who live somewhere in the fields in countryside are delicious.

The cardinal is my state's bird. Don't know who decided that since they're common all over the continent, but I've always liked the little shits. One attacked my little sister once when she was climbing in a tree, I guess she got too close to a nest or a female or something
