Canadians say 'Thank you' for the dumbest, most mundane, just-doing-my-job-but-okay things.
A Canadian will thank the bus driver when he gets off the bus.
A Canadian will even thank a food service drone for giving him his correct change, or putting the fast food on a tray (not even bringing it to the table).
We do that in México too, thank you.
and in America

I do that same shit, it's called courtesy and I respect your country for it
Politeness is literally a Canadian meme
Literally what is wrong with thanking people for that type of stuff
I thank people for small things and I call those people sir or ma'am unironically
Its common courtesy to do these things, growing up in was drilled into me by my mother especially
I find it bizarre when people say 'thank you' to shopkeepers after purchasing something. What for?
We do it as well, I always cringe when some retard yells "Thank you! :3" to a bus driver to show how fucking nice (s)he is. Your god damn money is thanks enough. Hell, Finns would probably thank a police officer for giving them a ticket. We also believe our country is the best or at least top-5 in everything even if it isnt.
Also I think some retards clap when a plane lands, those people should be deported to America.

Its just polite
I call them sir as well even though there isn't a reason to
>>52385086
>OP is to autistic to extend a common courtesy
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAH
>>52386612
>Your god damn money is thanks enough.
I know, right??
>>52385086
Are you a fucking nonwhite immigrant? Kill yourself, that's not burger at all
>>52386612
In here only very few people say thanks to a bus driver but when someone does I feel like they are just attentionwhoring and trying to show off with their excessive politiness
>>52386660
i ordered food
usually the delivery guy just stands there bored and remains bored and unimpressed by tip
this prison tatted gypsy comes to my door he obviously grew up in jail he was the most polite man i ever met only con artists are so polite in this country you learn to avoid overly polite people they just want your money or kidneys
it was creepy as hell
i kept thinking now he gonna pull a shiv and come at me, no? then now! no? maybe now?

nordic autism, folks.
>distant applause
Courtesy is a sign of civilization. If you don't regularly say please and thank you then you're probably uneducated, poor, or both. Either way, you weren't brought up correctly

And this one: >>52386807
>trying to show off with their excessive politiness
>>52385086
>not thanking people who work shitty jobs to ease their pain
>>52387080
If they can't withstand the pain on their own, they're still too soft.

It's not courteous if you're unconditionally thanking someone for just doing their job. That's what they're paid for. If they do an excellent job, then you can show your appreciation with your thanks or a larger tip.
If the bus driver isn't a late-braking lead-foot driver who's still able to keep good time, I might say a thank you.
>>52386485
I know, right? You're giving them your money/patronage. If anything, they should be thanking you.
>>52387025
I think overuse devalues the concept, that's all.
So Canada thinks they're special for thanking people for doing their jobs?
How up your own ass can you be?
>>52388640
>I have a complex: the post
>>52385086
It's called being nice.
I thought everyone did this everywhere in the world.
>>52386485
For providing you with things, duh.
I love Canada
we all say please and thank you and hold open doors for each other but everyone also swears like crazy in public and in front of children and it's totally acceptable
