If you actually want to be a professor you should reexamine your life and really think about the future your gonna have. 1/3rd of professors make under $9 an hour and have very little chance of making tenure.Depending on the department its very over saturated.

Employers don't often directly ask for economics degree so you need to search harder for a job fit for you than what you'd have to if you had, say, accounting degree. Hope you got masters though, that's a must.
