Why are there so many school shootings in the US?

honest question here, is it lack of emotional support from the faculty? is it a lack of proper psycological care for the kids? is it just whats on?

In the media here you only hear about prominent cases with the followed political agenda of either the people from the media that are transmiting outwards or the politicians and other professionals cited, but is there any real "scientifical" consensus on it?

We have a lot of mentally ill people who aren't really given much treatment or are over mediated
>>
it's easy access to guns
and parents who don't care

the link beyond that is a bit further to connect
>>
>>52345348
Its mostly just the very liberal media exaggerating how big of a problem it is, in reality its just poor mental health treatment and the fact that America is so big.
>>
Easy access to guns. If they only had access to knives like in most other countries, the attacks would be less severe.

In Finland we had a few school shootings as well but our gun laws were tightened and since then we haven't had a single school shooting. Americans refuse to learn. I think they lack empathy for their fellow man.

>I think they lack empathy for their fellow man.
We don't, psychopaths do.
Pretty much every school shooter was a complete nutjob.

>>52345398
Hardly responsible for the killings, unless you count lobbying to retain the second amendment as basically murdering children.
>>
>>52345348
Well many are hoaxes meant to push gun control agenda so the government can disarm the populace.
>>
>>52345348
Some have claimed many of them do this out feeling like an outcast and at the low end of the social tier in school. Essentially they go from group to group struggling to fit in. Either a group ignores them or simply puts them on the bottom of that group. They basically consistently fail. So they feel irrelevant and on top of being mentally ill, fuels the fire to go out in a blaze of infamy rather than be a nobody.
>>
>>52345348
Some have argued that the ones that end up going on school shooting sprees tend to be students who consistently fail within the social hierarchy at school. They are not necessarily loners, but constantly end up being bottom tier. This, fueled with mental illness plants the seeds for seething rage at what they see as being in an unalterable position as a bottom tier, inferior human being, unable to earn even the most basic forms of love, respect, admiration, or acceptance. As such they decide to take out their anger on the institution they felt was never meant for them to succeed and become infamous rather than fade into being a nobody. All in all, they would prefer being vilified and be a monster because that would give them some legacy rather than be irrelevant.
>>
>>52346912
>>52347012
Well, I was on the bottom of my group and mentally unstable, with no treatment and little family support. And I didn't kill anybody...

Maybe because I was actually learning in school and was getting good grades. Or maybe because I was Catholic, so I didn't protest to much, you know. Or maybe because I could simply go and fist fight when the pressure was getting to big. Or maybe all of this. Who knows?
>>
>>52347012
Basically this. They want their moment of fame and seeing how the news cover shootings, they feel like this is their chance.

That's complete misinfo. The gun laws were tightened BEFORE the school shootings happened.

One of them posted on 4chan and that's kinda strange and a bit funny.
>>
>>52347509
Well, since you said this, a knife is better weapon than a gun if you want to kill a single person. It's much easier to hide it in the first place. And you can slash or you can stab, both ways are good to make the victim lose much blood and thus strength. Of course a single killing won't make you famous. You have that big drive for fame in your culture? How strange.

You still have the rights to own one if you aren't crazy.

Some posts here are actually weirding me out. Is there such a tight "social hierarchy" inside American schools? I mean of course my high school had it's "popular kids"and its lonesome weirdos, but anyone was that much outcast by the others.
>>

>I think they lack empathy for their fellow man

It's more like we actually value our rights, Pekka unlike you cucks. Enjoy your Muslims. Soon a lot of Finns will be wishing they had guns.

Mental tests are easily abused by the government.

Furthermore a mandatory mental test is a massive infringement on the second amendment.

it depends on how the students see it
all group dynamic requires in members adhere to it
if they see you as an outcast there is no external policing, you actually have to play the part, so they choose the hierarchy themselves

Why does the truth hurt so much?

Cuckfailian laws are downright draconian. Most types of guns are banned, even pump-action shotguns.

The rest are heavily restricted.
>>
>>52348172
Yeah, but some people on no-fly lists are on there for fucking retarded reasons.
>>
>>52347989
And I'm telling you most are mentally competent by any measurable way.
>>
>>52347859
Indeed they do.
But even if I know about some of them, I haven't studied the problem very well. But I know about a kid from America who was a nerd and he was angry that he wasn't accepted in college and got to kill some dozens elementary school kids. (That's psycho as fuck, his teachers said that he wasn't able to look a person in the eye, but he was the brightest in his class). I guess he killed himself after that.

And there was another one from Finland, who posted on 4chan 8 years ago about that. He went and killed only his bullies and the head teacher - seven people, then killed himself. He wasn't the usual school shooters as he had spared the "innocent" people, killing only his bullies. He spared a pupil and one's mother.
The teachers said he was bright too, but he was extremely bullied.

I don't have to. Australians post on /k/ all the time.

For example:

>the police can conduct visits to your home to see if your guns are being stored correctly

This is some downright Gestapo/NVKD shit. If this was required for anything other than guns, leftists and anti-guns would throw a shitfit on how it's massive violation of civil and privacy rights. This shit is Orwellian.

>>52345348
Basically our school system is a very toxic environment that creates outcasts and lacks any decent support for kids. Add in what might be possibly the most irresponsible generation of parents, a rise in nihilism and a growing lower class, and you have a recipe for really fucked up, insane kids. Nobody is willing to admit this so they just blame guns or violent video games.
>>
>>52348573
no I didn't I said that, on the basis of your claim that many people on no fly lists are on the list because they work in the computer industry, that it would be an ineffective regulation for gun control because people in the computer industry never go outside
>>
>>52348612
How many "mass murder" esque type incidents have there been involving a car? It's not the same context and you know it. That being said the idea is still stupid and wildly ineffective.
>>
>>52348578
They're hardly strict m8, almost everyone in rural Australia has a rifle and most fags in Sydney have enough to do drive-bys on houses every other week.

The check up rule is rarely done, do you seriously believe there's enough personnel to go around and check every household with a gun on top of all their other duties for it to be strict?

Maybe consider not every story you read on 4chins is 100% true.

Why do Americans tend to derail a straight question into an argument?
If most of you are fucking sociopaths is ok lads, most of us are fat conservative browns, I don't have nothing to be ashamed, is just the country I was born into, nothing else. If you are not a trigger-happy far-right redneck racist why being offended if you are called like that. ?

If you wanna be famous but have no talent or regard for yourself or your fellow man, you can become a porn star if you're a woman or a extremely genetically gifted man, or a mass shooter if you're a regular man. >Easy access to guns. If they only had access to knives like in most other COUNTRIES, the attacks would be less severe.
Yes, that's why chinks regularly chimp out with swords, killing 20+ people single-handedly. Retard.

>In Finland we had a few school shootings as well but our gun laws were tightened and since then we haven't had a single school shooting.
Did it dawn on you that there is no connection to draw from our tightened gun laws? We didn't have any school shootings prior to those either, despite having VERY lax gun laws since the Grand Duchy-era until 1997 (and arguably up until 2011). Lax gun laws have a longer proven track record.

Our murder rate didn't go down after we legislated our "modern" gun law. The crime rate didn't go down. Society didn't actually improve - at all.

>Americans refuse to learn. I think they lack empathy for their fellow man.
Empathy is why they have a right to keep and bear arms, you mongrel. The only mentally ill persons in this context are the gungrabbers, who refuse to acknowledge what gun politics boils down to (hint: power) and what a less armed public eventually leads to.
>>
>>52348563
>What other things are as possibly dangerous as guns that *could* warrant such treatment?
Household chemicals, swords, large bludgeons, cars.

PS. Why should the government regulate firearms ownership in the first place? If the people rule (as westerners seem to delude themselves into thinking, despite them having no real power - Americans and a few well-armed euros are the exception), then surely an armed public is to be welcomed with open arms?
