Both are useful, but dont underestimate Portuguese, it is a quickly growing language and Brazil is easily the most important country in Latin America. It sounds better then Spanish anyway.
Many foreigners can speak Spanish, but not Portuguese. If you learn Portuguese it is just as useful in work because there is way, way less competition for that language.
