Apperently Harun Al Rashid was literally the most liberal caliph, and if was alive today, all Muslim government would hate him
At the same time, he was still pretty religious, and the caliphate was powerhouse for intellectual, economic, and scientific progress. Most people were middle-upper class, people were pretty smart, Arabs were into philosophy and science, and non-Muslims had pretty good positions
Why is there no Islamic movement today, to revive a Harun-Rashid/Abassid style state?

Thing is unlike "African-Americans came from Egyptians", this has literally thousands of primary and secondary resources, from all parts of the world, including the Abbasids themselves, but also the European kingdoms that traded and worked with them
Even Charlemagne knew about them, and him and HR would send each other gifts and letters
