>>52279532

>>52279669
We believe it's Russian clay and will gladly give it to our Russian brothers
They sold it to us.
Their loss.

what a cuckold nation
I wonder if Czarist Russia would have turned Alaska into their Taiwan.
>>52279532
We bought it.
>>52279532
I think the Russians got there before the British
If the British got there before the Russians, it would be Canadian today

The westernmost island of Alaska's Aleutian islands was the only US soil where land combat too place.
Now, it's a recently-closed radio base. No one is stationed there anymore.

T.I.L. the Civil War took place on the moon.

There's the refueling station on Shemya Island in Alaska where problematic soldiers/officers are reassigned. Shemya is considered to be a worse posting than mainland Alaska. Purportedly, the wind never drops below 60 knots, the temperature never rises above -20 °C and there's a 10-foot (3 m) visibility fog 300 days of the year. Primary duty there is clearing the runway of obstructions and running the radar station. Legend has it that every time someone leaves, they take a rock with them so someday there will be no more island and no one will ever have to go back.

U.S. bought Alaska, why should they give it back to Russia? It's not like they stole it
Can France or us get back the Louisiana territories then?
>>52280364
They rented it
>>52279532
Never
>>52280057
Other than fishing, fuckall.
I'm pretty sure it has more Russian influence than anywhere else, while we're on that topic.

There was also a military base that was shut down in '97. It would look like a fun place to explore if Adak weren't so remote (It's almost as close to Magadan as it is to Anchorage)
>>52279532
gibe back Alaska, Ameritards
>Wanting to share a land border with Russia
What the fuck are you thinking.
