This is just one side, the whole complex is pretty big and the oldest building (a manor house) is from the 13th century. Architecturally it ranges anywhere from gothic to renaissance to Dutch classicism

We have some Russian influence in our architecture, because we used to be part of Russia from 1809 to 1917. The Senate Square and the empire buildings around it (including the city hall in the pic) were designed by a German-Russian architect C.L. Engel.
Buffalo City Hall is an Art Deco masterpiece
Also the state of NY complex in Albany is pretty cool and imposing but I get why not everyone would like it
