NYC was ruined by postmodernism, it was okay when it still had a lot of whites and art deco/modernist architecture
Paris isn't a dream city, it has great spots but the suburbs are Africa and tourists clog the scenic parts. You'll get run over by a fat family of Americans or Germans in socks and sandals that's in a hurry to photograph another spot

Went to the horse tracks, Santa Monica pier, Hollywood. My girlfriend and I rented a car and we loved the streets. The highway system is amazing compared to where I live in Vancouver. The weather was gorgeous and it was halloween so we saw lots of entertainment in the bars and streets. We went on the weekend and didn't have to deal with the bullshit traffic LA deals with during the week. We plan to go again once our dollar is more equal.
