Batavia, or the Lowlands. Dietsland too.
Albion is England, Britain is Britannia or Prydain.

if you look at the old map you see two arms and a head

and at the bottom two feet, with the coast being the skirt: she's jumping and throwing her arms up as she's happy (some say she was "dancing")

The word "Albion" is older than the concept of England, m8. It's from the Celtic era.

Wouldn't "Salia" work for you guys as well?

The south was under the rule of Islam for 400 years and galicians were the ones that reconquered northern Portugal from muslims. Didn't you have a repovoação? What did you do with the muslims living in your land then?

We had repovoação, blood cleansings and forced conversions, but the population was still mostly natives. Our ancestors are only Gallaecian insofar as our political elites came from there. Whom consequentially came from Asturias. And the first Portuguese counts were half-Franks. So why even bother on that front.
>>
>>52224589
Yeah, but lusitanians didn't do shit (well, they didn't even exist as a people). It's like if we called ourselves andalusians or something when all the job was done by northerners.

Aye, but call a Scot part of Albion and prepare for a fight.
Modern definition of Albion is more commonly associated with (Arthurian) England (with Wales).

Never heard of the term Salia for the Lowlands. The only other terms you'd could that I'd think of would either be Francia (Occidentalis) or Lotharingia.
Or, Belgium is actually the Latin name of the Netherlands, until the Southern Netherlands got their independence.

Frisiae occupied what is now Frisia, Groningen and North Holland.
Belgiae occupied Belgium, Brabant and Limburg, while Bataviae occupied the rest.
I can be incorrect, it's been a while.

>Yeah, but lusitanians didn't do shit (well, they didn't even exist as a people)

U wot. They didn't exist in the medieval era, but they did in the pre-Roman one. They did enough "shit" to get a province named after them

But you have literally nothing to do with them except occupying some land that wasn't the core of the portuguese people. Your language came from the north, just like your first rulers. And even Asturias was part of Gallaecia during the roman period.

The point is that we can claim as much muh lusitanian heritage as you do if not more considering many historians claim that Viriato was born in the spanish side.

Also, there is the old Norse "Northvegr"
>>
For Britain there's Albion and Britannia. The only one I can think of for England specifically is Anglia. For Scotland there's Scotia, Caledonia and Alba. For Wales there's Wallia and Cymru. For Ireland there's Erin, Eire, Hibernia.

We don't have any poetic names, only latin and Old Norse variants, as mentioned above.

The vast majority of our territory is in old Lusitania, our genetic makeup is more influenced by the Lusitani than the Gallaeci. Both Lusitania and Gallaecia were under the Romans and then the Suebi and the Visigoths and were equally influenced genetically, culturally and religiously. Galician-Portuguese developed in Galicia and Portuguese Norte/Beira in the same measure. We have about as much to do with Lusitania as with Gallaecia, but Lusitania just encompasses more of Portugal
