Good for them. I tried to fix my teeth when I was a child/teen, only to end up with them falling out due to so many fillings. Now, I'm three teeth out and I'm really starting to think that the 'cavities' dentists were trying to repair only made me lose my three teeth. All the other one cavities that I refused later on (late teens) to have fixed and I don't have any problem with those.

It wasn't 20's tier. Before the military shift some improvements were made (finishing the autobahn for instance).
But yeah, in several parts of the country, people had to use horses because all the cars and gas went to the war effort.
But the original point here was whether or not the German STATE was poor, which it wasn't. It managed to basically max out the German work capacity, albeit with dated methods.
