Nice, what are you applying for? Good luck. It's a really good uni (I did a BA in Philosophy, the department was second best in the country behind only LSE when I was there). Obviously it's also very good for loads of things, particularly law and medicine.
Just be prepared to suffer the shithole that is London. I mean London does have unique positives really, but it also has unique downsides. But I guess you'll experience that. I probably shouldn't be telling you it's a shithole because I think it's an experience everyone should have for at least a while, because it is at least a pretty unique and special city.

Can't find a good picture of the campus, but there are some really new buildings and really old ones, with some that are proabaly 20 years old
They knocked down one from the 70's recently and they're building a new one in its place
I graduated in this past May. It's a really great school but I completely blew my chance to be social and instead spent 80% of my free time getting high while surfing the internet.

Can you clarify to me how university selection works in the UK? Do they pick the candidates based on the grades alone or what?
I've heard from co-workers who work there, even though they were extremely biased, that is a beautiful city with nice people and very accessible. On the other hand I've heard from more "traveled" people that the place is hugely inflated, the traffic is unbearable and that it's not worth it.

I don't know about international students, but I assume if will be the same for you as us.
We have to write a personal statement about why you are a good individual and why the university should pick you
When we apply we can do you to 5 at a time so when we do the personal statement it has to be about you as a person and why you want to do the degree without mentioning specifics
So if you want to do economics, you would write generally about economics but don't go into the specifics of a module of one course one university is offering.
I'm not him, but personally I don't care that much for London, but I think it's somewhere everyone should visit if they get the opportunity.
I live in a small town of about ~40,000 and have for most of my life. The trains and busses may be 30 years old and only run once every half hour, the internet is slow as shit, and there are very few chain stores to speak of, but everyone is really nice and you have room to breath.

Grades yes but also your personal statement is very important, it's what sets you apart from other candidates who have top grades just like you. Also you might have an interview - I did, but only because I was transferring from the Uni. of Nottingham (where I didn't have an interview) so I don't know if you will have one. Unis don't always do them really. If you do then since you're in Brazil they might do a phone interview or something.
Yes of course the traffic is unbearable. Do not plan to drive around unless you are insane. Public transport is the most common way of getting around - cycling is also good and very quick but you'll need a good lock. Alternatively I've heard scooters and mopeds are very fast around London but I've never tried it.
It's a very expensive city. I could afford it because in the UK we get given government loans for uni, and we get given more if we're in London. You'll have to decide whether it's worth it. You could go to a different city in the UK and pay so, so, so much less to live (half in rent, perhaps even less than that), and you might even have a much better time, because London is pretty crowded and all that. Depends what your preference is really.
If you want a cheap place to live in London, look for zones 2 to 3. I lived in Manor House during uni (about 7 to 8 miles from the university), in a place with four other guys, and it cost me £385 a month, which is INSANELY good value for London. To put that in perspective, I had a job in London for six months of this year, and I got a place in Stockwell (a little closer to central London, perhaps 4 miles away), and it cost me £715 a month, which is much more typical of what you normally pay in a house-share. Have a look for yourself though. Manor House is a more affordable area if you need ideas, and it's not a terrible place to live.

I grew up on an island with a population of ~20,000 but despised it. But maybe that's because I went to school in Portsmouth (pop. ~200,000), and that's where all my friends were. So I always dreamed of the big city really.

You have taken A-levels, right? That's the problem, they are only for UK students.
I've seem that they accept IB, but they take 2 years of classes. Some accept American SATs and APs.
In your cases, which had more impact, the grades or the statement?
Thankfully I'm a good writer and I've gotten some jobs for having crafted a good cover letter, so I expect it to not be a huge burden.

Most unis in this country should accept the IB I'm sure, in fact I bet nearly all of them, or perhaps all of them, accept it. My school, where I did A-Levels, started offering the IB instead after I left because it was becoming a much more popular (and rigorous, in their opinion) qualification. And all these unis will say on their websites what the IB grade requirements for a course are.

Grades are a prerequisite. If you don't meet the "typical offer" grades that they state, don't expect any sort of response from them. I think for King's the acceptance rate is 13% or something, so that means 87% of applicants are unsuccessful. So you need the grades, otherwise don't bother applying really.
So it's the personal statement that makes the impact. Think carefully about what to put, and definitely DEFINITELY get some input from an academic tutor or teacher (not your parents, because they'll be biased, so take anything they say with a pinch of salt).

Maybe you should live in a country where the government will give you a loan for university (both tuition and living costs), which literally enables ANYBODY to go to university (our loans are means-tested, which means you get more if your family is poorer. And you also get grants, which you don't have to pay back. Basically poor people get given a ton of money because of all this 'social mobility' malarkey - I know this, because I knew poor people at uni, and they had much more government money than me.)

Pretty good law and medical schools, some of the best in the nation, and right next door to the CDC.
Traffic in the area is godawful, not helped by the fact that there's no metro station close to the campus.
